An Honest Wedding Toast
I was the tinkling
cymbal, the sounding brass,
the fool who said
in his heart that
there is no God.
I looked at the
works of my hands,
and all of it
poured through my fingers
like water. Today love,
soft as sunrise, simple
as sky, silent as
silk, solemn as sea,
gave me a wife,
a family, and grace
to finally know God.
